The
VICKids Program Activities
The VICKids Program is an interactive program
where kids participate in age-appropriate activities.
The "Choice Table" is an activity that helps teach children
at a young age about the importance of eating and choosing healthy snacks.
Kids
also have the opportunity to help the tour leaders tell a story. That story
is the "5 a Day Story". Though research scientists and medical
doctors have learned how important it is for a child's development to eat at
least 5 to 9 fresh fruits and vegetables everyday. Fruits and vegetables help children
to grow tall, run fast, jump high, be smart and stay healthy plus so many other
important activities.

Kids are also given the oppurtunity to see what it would be like to "Eat
A Rainbow".
This activity also promotes children choosing a colorful variety of five fruits
and vegetables.

Also included is a tour the laboratories
where the VFIC research takes place. Children are shown examples of the research
to improve or develop new fruits and vegetables.
